WHITE WEDNESDAY @ STITCHES

WOW! IT'S COLD OUTSIDE. It's a great day to just stay in and work in my sewing room.
I couldn't do it though, not until I made a run to Tiepan.

I thought I'd show you some of my sweet finds this week and a little of what I've acomplished.

There are a couple of my blogging friends that love to work with these glass dome things. I'm sorry I can't remember what their called. I think that they are just such a perfect peace of beauty. For Christmas this year I want to do allot with glass, so, what better way to decorated my mantal and bar and table then with these dome things and apothacary jars in all sizes. I bought some of "Just a Bed of Roses" vintage rose ribbon, in a luchious brown and french blue. I made a tiny pillow with a carmal ribbon to go under the dome.

I was visiting Tuesday Morning and I found a box of these fun white buttons, their so unique. I also saw these black buttons. I couldn't control myself, I had to have them.

And look at these adorable salt and peper shakers from Just a bed of Roses. Brenda had them hiding behind her at the counter. I want to find some German Glass Crystel to put in them.

I found this fun dresser bowl at Aunt Elsies and I don't think I showed you. It hold's the thread's that I use most.

And of course, this white cup with black initials on it. It's "C" for Cindy.

I really enjoy preparing for White Wednesday and I also enjoy visiting all of the blogs over at Faded Charm, and leaving little comments. Everyone is so talented. Go over and check them out.

  2. Cindy you do find some great stuff girl. I do love those buttons. The glass domes (cloche) are a great way to decorate, I just love them, some are real spendy so I use a lot of pastry domes as well.

  3. I would have called it too the dome things, thank you June, it's a cloche. I have few of them too Cindy and I take them to the shows. Michaels has some round green moss in the flower dept. to make a little terrarium and you can use silk flowers if you don't have a green thumb. Ciao Rita

  5. Your buttons all look so pretty, something about button's I love but never have collected them. I love T.J. Maxx. Your coffee cup makes me want to drink something warm.I looked everywhere for lace curtains I had no idea they would be so hard to find, all though these are not really the kind of lace I was looking for they are perfect. I ended up finding them a K Mart.
    Have a wonderful evening,

  6. What great finds, I love your cup with the monogrammed C, I can just picture you sipping out of it and sewing away. You have to watch Brenda at Just a bed of roses, she likes to hide things all over the place!

  10. Hi dear Cindy,
thanks for stopping by. I'm catching up with everybody's WW's posts a little at a time and time seems to be never enough to do things when you would like to. Do you have the same feeling?
Love your pretty finds. Cloches are my favorite but they are quite expensive here so the other day I bought my first one (it's a multi-purpose one, to tell you the truth). They are just perfect on cake stands or on pretty plates, so I might consider getting another.
Love your monogrammed Cup but what I lve most is all those white buttons. I love buttons and collect mother-of-pearl ones. I have a jam jar full of them. In general I used the color ones for my prim dolls and the white ones are for pure decore. They can convey such a feeling of beauty and harmony, can they not? last week i was rummaging in my parents' garage trying toget rid of all useless things and found some pretties among which a tiny weeny 3/4 white jacket that had belonged to my mother whe she was in her 30's- they are again quite in fashion nowadays . I gave it to a friend who was most happy with that but before even giving it to her i cut off all the beauriful white buttons - they were so old and pretty... she can surely find other buttons that will probably match just as well but won't be as beautiful and old.
have a good night dear Cindy!
    Love
    Rita
