GRANDMA'S ROOM

You might remember that I said that I had an extra bedroom that I'm re-doing in all Vintage. I'm calling the room, "Grandma's Room" because I have several things of my grandmothers that will be in there.

I want to end up with an awesome vintage room. I'm almost sure that I can't accomplish that by myself.

You can see the above pictures of the room. Thing will get refinished and painted. The walls are a soft Tan with white trim and doors, they will stay the same. I am in the process of choosing different whites. The accent colors are, lime green and pink.

So far, their is a twin head board and foot board; a table/vanity; a wall mirror; a chair, a small corner shelf, a small table mirror, a lime green quilt (new), a hand crocheted ecru spread, grandma's jewelry box - aprons - old picture of her and a shadow box with her special things in it, and a new tea set that's lime green, white and pink. Allot of this stuff came from Aunt Elsie's antic shop.

I would love to hear your suggestions as I go!

  3. Hi Cindy,
I think it will be wonderful having a grandma's room. My sister created a heritage room. It's the guest room in her house, and she has decorated with ancestrial pictures. I love staying in that room. I feel like they are all watching over me while I sleep. I'm sure it will be the same for you in this room. You are bound to feel your grandmother very close. I can't wait to see the progress.
I want to thank you Cindy for always leaving me such special comments. You are so dear to me. My daughter and her husband are moving to SL or that area as soon as they can find a house to rent. Beau just got on with Skywest and the SL airport will be his base. i would love to meet sometime that I am down there visiting. Maybe you could take me to Bed of Roses. I do hope they find a home soon. My daughter is staying in Boise with the children until they find something.

  13. What fun to put together such a special room....my whole house should be named "Grandma's Room"....there's just nothing new in it:)
Have you thought about using the aprons as a valance over the top of the windows? It is so easy to make and doesn't harm the aprons at all.....can't wait to see the finsihed room.

  14. Cindy,
I love everything I see! I'm afraid if we ever went shopping together we'd be grabbing the same stuff. I love little twin beds, I just always see them painted white with layers of old lacy sheets & embroidered pillow cases on top. The end table is precious too. And don't even get me started on the chandy! Is it original or did you find it? The mirror, Oh Cindy..it's all wonderful. Lisa
PS You really make me blush with your comments, but I LOVE 'em! Your a sweetheart.
