THIMBLES FROM ALL OVER

I absolutely adore thimbles and quilts and quiting and piecing. I also adore my friends who have thought of me when their visiting wonderful places. Most of my thimbles are from the special people in my life.

While I have your attention, don't forget to come to the blogger luncheon in Farmington on the 16th. Contact Kelly to get the address for the Oakridge Country Club. Can't wait to meet you.

  3. You have a lovely thimble collection with many memories from those who love you.

The trifle Bowl came from Bed Bath and Beyond in Jordan Landing. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas for $10.00. They were stacked with cake servers by the dishes and it was also 10.00.

    Good Luck!

I still have my mothers silver thimble, when she was 15 years old, she sewed her own clothes by hand.

  9. Hi Cindy, I have missed your posts while I've been gone. I love the sweet things that Jodie sent to you. How thoughtful of her to do for her sweet friend. She is such a lovely person.
Your thimble collection is fascinating to me. I love thimbles and yet have never thought of collecting them. I wish I had the one my mother always used. I need to ask her if I may have it when she no longer uses it. I don't think she does much handiwork anymore. It would mean a lot for me to have it. I remember sitting in the chair with her watching her taking her tiny little stitches while she patched many of our clothes by hand.
I hope you have a wonderful time at the blogger's lunch. It sound like so much fun!!!
    hugs

  10. Cindy dearest,
so sorry I've missed some of your latest posts, but I was busy up to my years with work, DD and hundreds of other chores and errands. Actually hardly did any posting myself...
Guess I'v'e got some good catch up to do as soon as i have a quiet moment.
Love your thimble collections. You mentoned that in an e-mail to me some time ago but didn't expect your collection to be so wide and lovely, too.
I still have my late grandmother's silver thimble.Must be some 80+ years old as she started working as a seamstress when she was very young.
Have a great day and a fab weekend!

  16. What I want to know is what is that scrumptious desert in the glass bowl? Looks like chocolate something or other. Looks fabulous. What is it?

  17. I think I shall become your 50th follower, anyone who collects thimbles is okay with me. To become excited about the small things in life ( and what is smaller that a thimble, except perhaps a tiny flower seed?) is the sign of a happy person.
