BACK IN THE MOUNTAINS

This Post is going to be about three different important moments in my life. First, more thimbles - one from my sister in law Marcia. Marcia is serving a mission right now in Nauvo, and she had forgotten to give me this thimble from Lancaster County in Pennsilvania, the Amish Country. She must have taken it with her to Nauvo.

Second I came across a new book about Susan Boyle. I've so enjoyed reading it and I absolutely love her voice.

And Third I am with Mr Stitches here at the Homestead again, located in Heber City Utah. A beautiful Large Colonial Inn nesseled in the snowcaped mountain. We came up in a snow storm to 8" of snow on the grounds. We have a favorite cottage that we're always lucky to get.

CALIFORNIA

My son came to visit today. When he walked in the door he had something in his hand. I took a deep breath and took it from him. Then I screamed, "A THIMBLE", and ask, where is it from. It's solid putter with a stone on top that has a California quail and a California Poppy, on it. I had this little nest that I'm looking for a bird for. I thought it made a cute picture.

I am one lucky momma.

Happy Valentines Day

We enjoyed a quiet little valentines dinner, just the three of us. We are all three sick so the rest of the family couldn't come. I missed them, because I had planned it for everyone. We'll try again another time.

I love preparing special dinners when I'm not feeling rushed. I really had fun.

My thoughts have turned to those that I love with all my heart on this valentine day. Many of you Blogger's have expressed your love in so many creative ways. I have felt it, and your examples have made it fun for me to share. My prayers are with those who have no one to love or no one to love them. Let's all look closely for those people this year, and change their lives.

I FORGOT to show you the special gift my mother gave me for Christmas. This handmade lace cloth and lace starched coasters. Her hands are still creating beauty.

THE PORTS ON THE OCEAN

It's my lucky day. My neighbor, and friend, ask me to watch her house while her family went on a cruz to Mexico. She came over today and placed something in my hand. I could feel it's curves and I screamed - a thimble -. I wish you could see it, my picture does not do it justice. It's a perfect fit on my right middle finger, I do believe that I could quilt with this one.

AWE - DON'T YOU JUST LOVE TO ORGANIZE

I love cool ways to organize my sewing room. TA DA! Cute Baskets were two for one at Shopko. The charming Gerber Daisey's I found at Hobby Lobby.

NEXT ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am involved in another project. I have been told that Utah Haiti Relief is taking blankets (no bigger then twin size) to the orphanages in Haiti. They are also in need of t-shirts and pants for sizes 9 months to 12 years. I consider this to be a great opportunity for me and I love it. Let me know if you have a group that would like to help.

THIMBLES FROM ALL OVER

I absolutely adore thimbles and quilts and quiting and piecing. I also adore my friends who have thought of me when their visiting wonderful places. Most of my thimbles are from the special people in my life.

While I have your attention, don't forget to come to the blogger luncheon in Farmington on the 16th. Contact Kelly to get the address for the Oakridge Country Club. Can't wait to meet you.
