ALTERED VINTAGE GIRL ART - WHITE WEDNESDAY

You will see a small cone with feathers in it. This was made by a wonderful blogging friend.

This altered picture is made up of: A darling vintage girl I found at Graphics Fairy. I just love Karen for all that she makes available. My burlap and chenille I purchased before Christmas. A doily that my mother made, an antique button, cream feathers, shells and a special key. Oh, and special lace and pearls from Canada.

BRAG MONDAY WITH GRAPHICS FAIRY

I am joining Graphics Fairy today for Brag Monday using one of her graphics. I love her castle's. This is a Gothic castle I used on the pocket of a cream and black bag, made with a hounds tooth and corduroy material. 4 Antique buttons that I brought back from Montreal Canada are sown on the corners of the pocket. A black silk bow and a jeweled letter "C", for Cindy (he he) are on the upper left corner.

SURPRISE - SURPRISE

Does it suprise you that I made this bag first? I've been in the bag business for 39 years - everything begins with a bag. I have an interesting calling in my ward. Sister Friendly, I modivate the children to read the "Chirldren's Friend" magazine. This month my story "in the magazine" is about chocolet chip cookies. My bag matches the cookies. (he,he,he).

I have a couple of other ideas next. Check back!

BURLAP FOR NEW YEAR - 2011

I'm spending a few hours in Studio 58 today. Christmas is all put away - it will be stored in my memory and the memory of all those that shared it with me. My heart is full of the understanding that God lives and he directs us if we listen. I have enjoyed visiting your blogs and seeing your celebrations. Now I am enjoying seeing how you prepare for the new year. If your like me, you have to clean closets and storage places and organize everything.

But today, I'm simply blogging and dreaming of my first project for the new year.

I am inspired by the several yards of burlap that I bought before Christmas. I've never used it, but it's time. There is a very peaceful filling when I gather other natural colors to join it.

White milk glass, laces, ribbon, flowers.

Shells

I want to make this year simple and beautiful. I want it to be the best one yet!
I have always been happiest among natural color, however, I love lime green and plum. But mostly I love the colors of nature.

There is something vintage in me always trying to get out. I'm trying.

I hope that all of you will find time during this next year to visit your special place and find inspiration. Magical things are waiting for all of us! May our hands be blessed to create good things.
