BALLET SHOES AND TEACUPS

The first picture:

It doesn't take much to make me smile. While visiting Aunt Elsie's in West Jordan, I found this darling little teacup and saucer in lime green. I also found these adorable ballet slippers.I use to be a ballerina, (really), (no, serious), come on now, I did. Denise,(the store owner) found these vintage earrings to clip on the slippers. Lime green is an accent in my sewing room. I was too a ballerina. I was in the nutcracker and everything. I got charlie horses in my calves every time I pointed my toes. ANYWAY, I don't know what ever happened to my toe shoes, so I bought these to remember a time in my history when I was a primadonna.

The second picture:

I have been looking for a lamp to replace one I've used for 5 years in my bedroom. I was visiting a different TJ Max, man did they have beautiful lighting and mirrors. I fell in love with this one, it's all Crystal. My cute hubby took me back Saturday and bought it for me. Mr. Stitches can be very sweet if he wants too. Look closely, can you see some white lines? There only there in the picture. I knew that we had ghosts in this house.

Have an awesome week everybody and come visit me.

  3. Isn't it wonderful to go to a relative's home and find such treasures? I have a dainty, beautiful, teacup that my grandmother gave me just before she died. I display it in my curio cabinet. The vintage earrings on the ballet slippers are awesome!
Take care and have a great Sunday and MLK day!

  4. Mr. Stitches is so great. Love your new lamp. You got some really cute things. I just found out my aunt passed away. I might be going to California for the memorial. I'll let you know about the 29th. I don't know where I'll be at the moment. Mimi

  6. First, thank you for your sweet visit and sharing your story.
On your Wedding night though!??? Oh my, I am so sorry!!! I am begining to realize I sure did a number on myself when I fell and it will be a long recovery:) I read down your blog and and saw you also have back problems. I broke two vetebraes 2 1/2 years ago and ahd several discs removed because of an deteriating back issues and ended up with a 12 hour surgery. It was a three level fusion with 2 rods and 6 screws of L4L5 and S1. It hasn't fused, YET. I am so glad your treatments worked without surgery.

Consequently, I haven't been as active and have gained too much weight. So I certainly wasn't smart playing a chorus girl with my sisters!!! I had rods and screws already in my upper tailbone! LOL
*** I have also been praying about something I could do with my body which is not in the best shape to exercise:D So, I am very interested in your post about weight lost and hearing your success. Congratulations!!!

I am so glad you happened upon my blog!:)
We have had several things happen lately and I haven't posted lately , but hope you return often.
My DIL's father passed away in your neck of the woods (S.Jordan)on Sunday morning just after arriving to church in the church parking lot, of a massive heart attack. So our son's little family are staying with us this week until his funeral on Sat. This week will be spent loving 5 sweet little grandchildren while they are here and so this will be another week without blogging much. I did however want to say thank you, though and want you to visit often.

AND, We are practically neighbors! :D

  7. Hi sweetie, you don't have to try and convince me that you were a primadonna. You have it written all over you! I always wanted to be a ballerina and my mom says that I would dance fro anyone that came over to the house. What a sight that must have been. Anyway, I love the treasures you found and that lamp is so pretty. What a sweet guy you have there, but I bet I don't have to tell you that. lol
    hugs

  8. Lovely green items. I got a charley horse last nite -- my kids didn't know the expression. I tried to explain it to them, but they just couldn't imagine. They wanted to know if only old people got them. HA! Hope you have a great day. Blessings, Tammy
