White and Black Wednesday

Happy White (and in my case, black) Wednesday. This day is put on by Faded Charm and it is too much fun. Go to her site and see lots of other participants. I love doing this because I love the inspiration that comes to me when I'm focusing on a certain thing. In this case, white.

I took a good friend out for her birthday. We wanted to go to the University Mall where a particular store was. We get there and find out that the store has closed, Bummer. So we decide to walk the mall. My friend ask me if I wanted to go into the clothing store called White/Black. I haven't shopped for nice cloths for so long, I had no idea. The wheals were starting to chern, I've been sewing in black and white now for the last two weeks. So I'm thinking, hea, White Wednesday, it might be perfect.

Well, was I in for a treat. What a fantastic store. Can I say I loved it. I haven't been modivated by clothing for 23 years. I use to wear things like this. I use to design this style in my head and wonder why nobody had a store like this. Wow, life and I don't get along very well in the physical department right now. I've got some life style changing that's going to take place.

But -- I want to be able to shop in that store. I'm looking at these 2 very well dressed women behind the counter and I ask, can I take pictures. I'm thinking, all I can do is have pictures around me of how I use to look.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you these beautiful pieces of White/Black design.

SCRAPPY BAGS FOR HALLOWEEN

I went into Just a bed of Roses again the other day, where I was met with the most exciting Halloween decorations I've ever seen. Brenda is the Queen. Brenda can modivate the dead to walk. Here I am sewing up a storm in black and white and orange.
I saw a black and sparkel chandelier in the store. Black lace runners, how charming. I can do black and I love chandeliers and lace. I've decided that each room will get one halloween display. How can I not decorate for Halloween when there is such darling things in Brenda's shop. I was even a witch once - totally scared the neighbors dog, he didn't like me for ever after that.

Scrappy bags, book marks, cards and tags. FUN, FUN, FUN

WHITE WEDNESDAY ON FRIDAY

There is so much to do in Montreal Canada. I didn't have enough time to do everything so I had to chose the most important. That would be Material Stores and Antique shops. These pics came from some very old and seasoned antique shops that carried very very nice and expensive things. What do you think of that statue putting on her nylons?

The only things I bought were some very old and cool buttons. And those little square ice looking name card holders. It created the juices flowing for christmas. I have a suggestion to make to anyone. I'll post it next week.

WHAT HAPPENED

I have been working crazy in my sewing room today making prizes and trying to look at the white Wednesdays. You are looking at the side of a small bag, I wanted you to see the button, a tag to go with it and a bookmark.

I'm so sorry but my pictures didn't show on my white Wednesday, however, I just figured it out. Only one picture actually downloaded. We're OK now. I'll post it again.

Hope you had a good day.

Material from Montreal

I have had so much fun reading the comments for my color suggestions. I love color and I get soooooo excited. I wasn't sure how I was going to figure this out but let me tell how it happened. After I read and re-read the suggestions, the colors that you are looking at were stuck in my mind. So I had an idea.

While I was visiting in Montreal Canada last week, I ask about a shop and I was told about the "Fabric Villa". When we finally found it I couldn't wait to go in. I seriously found the most Delicious fabric I've ever seen. I had to look and feel everything. I kept going back to this special piece. Chocolate, butterscotch and caramel with a touch of black licorice and ice (French Blue). It takes my breath away. This was it! I'm going to make two big pillows for my quest room and then I have left overs.

I have to give credit to several gals for inspiring this find.

Collected Treasures - Carmel's and Browns
Vintage Craftier - Carmel's
June - French blue
Home is where the heart is - Blue Gray

So, the way I look at it, all of these gals are winners.

scrappy halloween bag - 2nd winner

I couldn't wait to get home so I could get figuring out who was going to win. I went to my material pile and - DA DA - black and white. I made it!

Shellie Warren, Kim@starshinechic and Becky Lewis suggested Black and White, so their all winners.

SCRAPPY HALOWEEN BAG

I am so very grateful for all of the sweet comments I received on my scrappy bag. It's made this very difficult though. I loved all of the suggestions and all of the colors. There's just going to have to be several winners.

First, I was looking in my piles of material and I found this. It was orange and black and part of it was a pieced section to a quilt and it just happened to have Halloween things on it. SO, DA DA, I made it. I looked on my comments to see who had made the suggestion - and - it was - Mimi Sue - at Mimi Sue's Cottage. Your a winner Mimi.

SCRAPPY BAG - a special prize

For all you scrappy happy people out there. A 10 inch padded and lined scrappy bag. One pocket in back, ruff seams. This is all most the end of my neutral material. I feel like buying another color - if you have a suggestion for my next color, leave it in the comments. When I come back, I will go look for material in all the suggested colors. I will make something special for the person who suggested the color.

Thank you all for being so cute and creative and letting me have happy moments while I look at your blogs.

WHITE WEDNESDAY

While my family is off hicking the hills, I'm checking out Urban Renewal here in St. George. It's a nice size store and it's always changing. I loved the jewlery tables and the dinning table. I bought the tin basket.

Next, on to Main Street Antiques. It's not a very big store but they have alot and they are so very sweet and helpful. I always ask for milk glass at first and they run around and pull it out from everywhere. If I had a shop, the milk glass would be the star of the show. It would be in the cutest display in the shop. The mink coat was a thrill to see.

Last was TJ Max. They have those everywhere but it changes all the time. This is where I found my long legged Lillie.

That's all the shopping I got to do. I quess I didn't have the right people with me. Oh well, it was fun. I won't be here next week to participate in White Wednesday. I will be in Montrial Canada. I'm taking my camera, and my French 101 book. I expect it to be grand. Come see me the week after next.
